Old location-New location

Dedicated B&A "freaks" should recognise this location at first glance. Taken in 1950 from the old R.O.W. at mile 128.9 and looking west toward MP 129, which is visible just to the left of center of the photo. A corner of the (still-standing) stone arch bridge is visible in the lower right corner. Note the "Y" signal mast just about across the tracks from MP 129. The use of this type of mast was mandated by the fact that, at least as recently as 1934, there was a 298 car siding stretching from the "art colony" at mile 128.45 up to Middlefield station. Subsequent RRETT's show the siding had been cut back substantially soon after and ETT 163 (1/1951) lists NO siding at Middlefield at all.

Unknown photographer April 22, 1950.
Added to the photo archive by Carl Weber Jr., July 11, 2008.
