Locust Valley

LIRR's PRR heritage can be seen on Locust Tower, which now serves as the town's police department. The short school bus next to the tower is the Oyster Bay train, the single track portion of the line past here was getting some maintenance, so the trains would run as far as Locust Valley, change tracks, and head back as the next westbound, and busses took people between here and Oyster Bay.
Locust Valley, NY, July 25, 2007.

Added to the photo archive by Steven Ogden, June 24, 2008.
Railroad: Long Island Rail Road.
