Exploring the West...

Holland America Westours "McKinley Explorer" dome car "Kenai" is on display at Portland, Ore., Union Station Sep. 21, 2002.

The new Colorado Railcar "Ultradome" was on a tour of the west with sister car "Knik" enroute to Seattle, where the cars were barged to Alaska. They are currently in service on the Alaska Railroad's seasonal "Denali Star".

Holland America Westours entered the Alaska tourism market with a fleet of former Budd and Pullman-Standard full-length domes from the Santa Fe, Great Northern and Milwaukee Road. Most of these have since left this service, replaced by the new Colorado Railcar cars.
