Loading gypsum in Hantsport, NS

The A.V. Kastner is shown loading at the Fundy Gypsum dock in Hantsport. Due to the high tides in the Bay of Fundy this is a timely operation.

The ships come in with the rising tide, are turned by the tug, Spanish Mist, berthed, loaded and depart with the ebbing tide.

In all the times I've visited here over the years this is the first time I've seen a ship being loaded. At low tide the bottom is visible.
