Catskill and Tannersville RR at North Lake, NY

This is a view of North Lake (part of Catskill Park, NY), located between Palenville and Tannersville, NY. The paved path running along the lake is the right-of-way of the Catskill and Tannersville Narrow Gauge RR. The C&T ran from the summit of the Otis Elevating RR (located just a few hundred feet east of this location) to Tannersville. This view is looking west towards Tannersville. The C&T was known as the “Huckleberry Line” (due to the abundance of huckleberry bushes along the route) and was abandoned in 1918.
