Dunderberg Spiral Railway, Loop Connecting Lower & Upper Planes, Jones Point, NY Upon reaching the top the Lower Inclined Plane, cars would have traversed almost a complete circle and then begun the ascent of the Upper Inclined Plane. This view shows circular fill that connected the planes. The break in the fill was apparently to accommodate a seasonal stream bed. Construction was halted before the planned bridge or culvert could be completed. Photographed by Rich Kugel, January 5, 2008.
