C&IM #551, at National Museum of Transportation

The Chicago and Illinois Midland Railway (AAR reporting marks CIM) was a Class I railroad serving Peoria, Springfield and Taylorville, Illinois. It specialized in the hauling of coal. Lima delivered this locomotive in 1931. It was designated as Class F-4. #551 was retired in 1955. C&IM was purchased by Genesee and Wyoming in 1996 and renamed the Illinois and Midland Railroad (AAR reporting marks IMRR).
