Newport RI Station in the 80's

George King, on the right is surveying the work being done in front of the station. George was instrumental in moving under its own power the former Woleboro Gas Car that came down the B&M and New Haven tracks. The car in front of the station is the trailer car that the Brill Gas Car car pulled for additional capacity. The Brill is now a resident at the Deleware and Ulster in Arkville. NY. having escaped just before the Sakonnett River Railroad Bridge went out of service.
