Amtrak train 54, the northbound Vermonter, has just crossed over onto the NECR to head north. CSX train Q423, which was waiting east of the Palmer yard switch, is now pulling forward to head west to Springfield yard. The two signals visible in the photo are on the east end of CP83, the track in the foreground is the CSX mainline.
