I presume this is a wreck involving Maine Central trains. I plan to do some research in order to try to learn the details. Both of the engines look like they might be Alcos. From the appearance of the rear of the foremost locomotive, it looks like the engineer would have had to jump to survive! -- photo from the collection of Arthur Johnson
