Super Dome by the SchuylkillPort Clinton, Pa., where the Schuylkill River slices through Blue Mountain northwest of Reading, is an unlikely place to find a full-length dome car more accustomed to wide open spaces out west.
Here's former Milwaukee Road lounge #55, now Reading & Northern #4, awaiting its next call to duty with the R&N business car fleet. It's one of 11 Pullman-Standard cars built for the "Hiawatha" fleet in the early 1950s.
It and its sisters have also served on CN, VIA Rail Canada, Amtrak, and Ontario Northland; they have also operated on excursion and dinner trains in Alaska, California, Colorado, Minnesota, and Washington State.
