I Don't Think We're In Kansas Anymore...

If the palm trees didn't give away the location, the trains probably did. We're at the former Santa Fe depot in downtown San Diego, Calif., and a Coaster regional train is preparing to depart for Oceanside while a San Diego Trolley light rail run heads out toward Mission San Diego.

Coaster has served the San Diego area since 1995, while the Trolley turned 30 years old in 2011. It began service in 1981 between San Diego and the U.S.-Mexico border at San Ysidro, and has grown ever since. It was the first modern light rail system built in the U.S.
