Old Home Days at Phillips, Maine (4)

This is the engineer's side of the Monson Railroad #3. The Monson locomotives 3 and 4 didn't have numbers painted on them in later years of operation in Monson and were distinguished by the number of steps to the cab. This locomotive has plenty of power to haul the coach plus both cabooses at the SR&RL Museum and sounds great as it works up the grade to the Sanders depot. Number 3 is on loan from the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum in Portland, Maine.
