West Bay Rd., NS

West Bay Rd. is a community, not just the name of a road. It's not particularly special, except that this was the location of my first photographic encounter with the CBNS Alcos, a little more than 10 years ago. The Alcos are long gone, and the CBNS is now an EMD road, with most power being leased, like LLPX 1504 trailing. The GEXR reporting marks belong to the Goderich and Exeter in Ontario, also a Rail America property.

Passenger service on this line ended in 1990, but the superelevation on the curve still remains.
