St. Peters Jct.Nearing the end of its run, train 301 is slowing for Tupper Yard, just east of Port Hawkesbury. This was once the location of the junction for the branch to St. Peters on the south coast of Cape Breton. That line was pulled up about 1970, and a rough trail is all that remains.
The line east of here has been up for abandonment too, but it appears to have at least a temporary lease on life, while new coal mines in the Sydney area are being developed, and the railway tries to drum up new business such as garbage hauling.
