Virgininan No. 135 at the Virginia Museum of Transportation

One of 12 GE EL-C Rectifier locomotives ordered by the Virginian in 1955 and delivered in 1956 as No. 135. When N&W took over in 1959 it was renumbered 235. After N&W closed Electric operations on the former Virginian, the unit was bought by the New Haven in 1963 as an EF-4 and became No. 304; became an E-33 and numbered 4604 under Penn Central; and was donated to the museum by Conrail in 1983. See the November 2003 issue of Trains for more info on these locomotives. There is one other in this class surviving, former Virginian No. 131, which is being restored by the Railroad Museum of New England to be become New Haven 300 once again.
