Maine Merci Train CarFrance gave each State a car decorated with plaques as a gift of thanks after World War II. This car was built in 1885. The plaques are at the State Museum in Augusta. See http://members.tripod.com/~travispost76/boxcar/index.html for a good history of these cars and a good photo of a preserved one (Texas).
