Pontiac Branch Railroad


In 1875 the Branch line was charter. The original line run from Auburn Station(mp-0) to Pontiac (mp-4.5). The line was built by the New York, Providence & Boston Railroad.

Then in 1879 the Pawtuxet Valley Branch Railroad and the Pontiac branch Railroad made a deal, that stated the Pawtuxet Valley world be lease to the Pontiac Branch.

Then around January of 1880 the Pontiac branch was extension to Connect the two railroads..

In the 70's hardtimes come to the branch (Penn Central)

Then In 1976 the line was sold to the Providence & Worcester Railroad then run train till the end of the 80's
then in 1991 the Pontiac Branch was abandon.....

this small section of track is in Auburn at the Interchage with the New Haven Railroad....
