Could you pass that stone?

I know you've either seen pictures, or heard reference of the washout on the Valley Line. Well, just over 4 years ago 2 of our crazier volunteers, (my cousin Bill and yours truly), decided we wanted to determine what caused the washout. After quite a few hours of digging, this is what we found. The picture doesn't do it justice, it was bigger than the 2X2 box culvert, which plugged it up and caused the washout.

Photographed by Scott, February, 2002.
Added to the photo archive by Scott Dorman, March 18, 2006.
