I take too many pictures. On this day the 10 trains we watched and the 1GB of memory in by camera resulted in 400 or so photos. I thought the following sequence of Q409 (on the middle track) and slower Q171 on the right track were interesting.

They have both just rounded the bend at Halethorpe about a 1.5 miles east of the MARC platfrom where this series of photos is taken from. A race?! Well sort of.

If you look closely you'll see 3 signal bridges. The old cross overs & related interlocking are a mile or more away at Halethorpe between the most distant pair of signals. The lights on the middle bridge will come on in a monent. Just behind the yellow MOW machine in the center of the picture is old 'HX' tower, long empty.

The 'nearby' set of signals in this frame will look east away from the camera toward Baltimore when they are tunred on.
