Main lines and siding in Framingham of the Boston and Albany

Railroad scene on a summer day in 1977. Looking west at MP 21.75 on the Boston line in Framingham. To the right are Conrail's two main lines (tracks 1 & 2) and to the far right is the old industry siding hidden by the high grass. Where I'm standing there were two more tracks (3 & 4) before the construction of the Massachusetts Turnpike. At that time Boston and Albany had the right-of-way until incorporated by the New York Central System which later was consolidated under Penn Central. To the far left is Rt. 135. In the background to the right, behind the tree line, is Dennison factory.

Photographed by Daniel Smith, July 24, 1977.
Added to the photo archive by Daniel Smith, February 19, 2006.
Railroad: Conrail.
