Birdhouse cossing Signal

These boxes are actually an old New Haven "Birdhouse" Crossing signal. The lower box would have held the relays and such, and the top box, that resembles a birdhouse (hence the name) would have contained a bell. there were holes on the side so that the sound of the bell would not be muffled by the box. Located at South Dennis, MA
