Top of the Mountain

This is a photo taken where the switch used to be for the siding at Top of the Mountain. Top of the Mountain was supposibly the highest point between Head Tide and Alna Center Station. The siding was used for train that had to double the hill, meaning that the train was unhooked about six or seven cars away from the engine. The siding was long enough to have seven cars be put on it, while the engine went back to pick up the rest of the cars that it left at the bottom of the hill. The siding went off to the right of the picture.
