Winter railroadingWinter railroading is not all its cracked up to be. Frozen swtichs, frozen crossings,sticking brakes,frozen air lines, slippery steps. Here you can see a frozen swtich. It took 4 people pulling and prying to try to move this swtich.....what we needed was some heat!
And I gave it some heat......with a fusee. The grease inside the switch had water in it, which froze into an unmoveable mass, so I had to use the fusee to heat the barrel of the switch to loosen up the switch.
