April 1874 - Part of the cost of running a Rail Road. Found this on Ebay. It's 130 years old. I don't have any 'Rates of Pay' info for engineers & firemen from this period, but 5 cents a mile for Engineers & Firemen seems low. /DL Photographed by Unknown, April 1, 1875.
