NH RS3 530 at Bolton Notch

In this historic photo from Oct 17, 1954 9:55am, NH RS 3 530 hauls Train number 130 towards Boston. Both the Fireman and Conductor have their heads out of the train to see if the budd car was clear of the main line and off on the siding. The train is just about to duck under rt 6/44. This photo was taken one year before the 1955 flood when passenger service would forever be ended on this line with track removal and abandonment years later.

Photographed by David R. Sweetland, October 17, 1954.
Added to the photo archive by Xian Clere, October 10, 2005.
Railroad: New Haven.
