CSX 4840 at the Cumberland Locomotive Shop. According to the August 2004 issue of TRAINS Magazine CSX has obtained 20 preproduction examples of EMD's SD70ACe's. Of the first 6, Nos. 4831-4833 and 4835 went to the Transportation Technology Center testing facility near Pueblo, Colorado; 4834, to EMD's LaGrange, Ill., plant for emissions tests; and 4836, directly to CSX. This is the first one I've spotted, but have seen more since.
