Detail of the wall map of the City of Belfast, Waldo Co., Maine, (published by Sanford & Leggett, Philadelphia, 1875) showing the main yard of the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad (opened 1871) which was to be operated under lease as the Belfast Branch of the Maine Central Railroad from 1871 to 1925. The portion of Belfast Bay over which the track ran was replaced with landfill a few years later.
