New Haven's S-2 switchers frequently worked the downtown post office yard and made connections with frequent Boston-New York-Washington trains. The signal is showing "clear" on the top board, so theoretically the engineer could have kept going through East Side Tunnel in Providence, R.I. to Seekonk River drawbridge. New Haven's diesel switchers were painted bright orange and green.
