Another "Gem in the rough" 4

Someday we'll see an exhaust cloud erupt from the 0401 like this, but it's only an illusion created by VRR 97 hiding behind the FA. 0401 and 529 teamed up on a photo freight for Railfan's Weekend. Another step toward restoration took place in March, 1990 when 0401's prime mover and main gen were removed. This permitted a thorough cleaning, blasting and repainting of the interior
and cleaning and repainting of the prime mover. The, roughly, 42,000 lb combo was reinstalled in Feb, 1991.

Photographed by BandAfan, November 7, 1987.
Added to the photo archive by Carl Weber Jr., May 10, 2004.
Railroad: CVRM/RMNE.
