Bad old days

Georgia Central Ry. 3602 has seen better days. The high-hood engine appears to be ex-Norfolk & Western, which bought diesel power in that configuration. The engine, being cannibalized for still-operating sisters, was lying in the freight railroad's engine shop in Lyons, Ga., near Macon, in July 2000.

Photographed by Leo King, July, 2000.
Added to the photo archive by Leo King, May 3, 2004.
