Conductor Lesley Lynch

Three-year conductor Lesley Lynch had recently qualified Acela operations, and was in charge of 2150 this day. The extra list conductor was on his tenth Acela trip. After he collected tickets, he was able to sit down for a few minutes, and start his paperwork counting tickets and other required details. As we passed Kingston, R.I. he went to the bistro car's speed indicator. He told the folks via the P.A. system, "We are now attaining our highest speed, 150. Thank you for riding Acela Express." The rapid speed began at about milepost 158, but we had to slow down after passing through Davisville (MP 168) -to 130.
