Boston skyline

There's no mistaking the Boston skyline through all those wires. The temporary access road bridge for the Big Dig's construction was new in September 2004, as were the coming Acela Express trainsets, like the 2004-2005 string, which were testing in the Hub. A yard conductor had already lined the route on all the hand-operated switches in Southampton Street Yard. All the catenary was in service by then. The train is about two minutes away from the new service and inspection building, just behind the camera.
