QBRY 605

QBRY 605 Welfare Island Station. In the middle of the bridge there was a stop for Welfare Island. Passengers would then take an elevator down to the island in the east river. The elevator also carried cars and trucks to the island. There were numerous hospitals located on the island. Sometime after trolley service ended a new bridge was built from Astoria Queens to Welfare Island and the elevators were closed.
