Trains @ BOLTON NOTCH, CT!!!!!

In this 1966 photograph, a New Haven Railroad Freight makes it's way past the Bolton Lodge located near the notch in Bolton. The Bolton Lodge has since burned down and there is a small shelter pavillion there now. The area here is a lot more grown up with vegetation now and is very different. These were the good old days, when trains ran through Bolton! The train is headed eastbound to Bolton Notch and appears to be an RS1 or RS 3 series engine. The paint scheme doesn't seem in to good of shape, of course this was only a couple years before abandonment of this section of trackage. See other 1972 photos I posted for abandoned Bolton Notch railroad track pictures.

Photographed by The Bolton Historical Society, 1966.
