New Switch-1

In the course of repairing track damage after Hurricane Juan alongside Bedford Basin, CN also embarked on a track rationalization program.

The Bedford Subdivision, which had been double track from Halifax Ocean Terminals to Windsor Jct., has been reduced to single track in selected areas. The most recent is from MP 7.96 to MP 15.4.

A new switch is shown here being installed at Mile 7.96. It is currently a manual switch, but will be changed to a power one this spring along with the extension of the CTC eastward from Windsor Jct.
