Fred in the cab

Fred Richardson at the throttle of "his" engine from Edaville days, Bridgton and Harrison #7. In his 8th decade, the spry, soft-spoken Mr. Richardson handled the throttle for several runs during the MNGRR Steamfest in September, 2003. It was apparent to the fireman/photographer that Fred certainly hadn't lost his touch! Here, Fred skillfully handles thorttle and whistle cord as he compares notes on the 37-ton Baldwin with MNGRR engineer Rick Knight.

Photographed by Mike Chapman, September, 2003.
Added to the photo archive by Michael Chapman, January 11, 2004.
Railroad: Maine Narrow Gauge.
