CMRR 1 The Duck

CMRR 1, a former US Air Force Davenport switcher pushes (drifts actually) the tourist Train back to the Mt Pleasant Station, the U&D wasn't called the Up and Down for nothing...years ago the locomotive drifted unmanned into Mt Pleasant after someone broke into the cab and released the handbrake and wheel chocks...destroying 2 track cars and pushing a caboose 50ft before stopping. Ask the NYC boys about the boxcar they lost that rolled almost 10 miles before stopping. All standing equipment is now skated.

Photographed by Paul Hintz, June 9, 2002.
