Willimantic River bridge

This is the abandoned bridge over the Willimantic River between Willimantic, Connecticut and Lebanon, Connecticut looking east. This bridge was built for the Air Line route between Boston and New York City. It is the northern end of the Air Line Rail Trail - South Section, and may someday be covered by a foot bridge. The west side of the bridge has no fence, the east side is well blocked to trespassers. The Eastern CT Railroad Museum is very close to the far side, but I was not brave enough to walk over the river to the other side!
