High Car at Wakefield Junction 1953. The "High Car" carried, along with other Newburyport Branch traffic, those boxcars that were too tall to fit through the tunnel in Salem on the Eastern route. K-8-c 2726 was the usual power until dieselization. Photographed by Paul Moccia, July, 1953.
