Around The Bend & Buried...

This view shows a track that crosses the River Rd in Lisbon, Me. That road I turned off from was Rt. 196 . This spur runs from Brunswick, Topsam, Lisbon Falls and so on until it reaches Lewiston. If the Amtrak Downeaster plans on traveling to Lewiston/Auburn this is the route it would have to use unless they come via Portland/Auburn. The track is cut, buried & torn up in many places along the route. Update 8-17-03 I was told that the Morristown and Erie Railroad now Maine Eastern was selected to operate the State owned Rockland Branch, Lewiston Lower Branch and the Lower Road between Brunswick and Augusta. Operations start with ALCO's! on Oct. Please feel free to check out my other photos, Thanks! Olympus Superzoom 3000 DLX 35mm
