Welcome to Epsom, 45 years too late

If you were standing here, just 45 years before this photo was taken, you may have seen GE 44-toner #3 and combine #3 rolling through Epsom for one of their very last trips together ever. After several years of financial hardship following the war, the Suncook Valley was sold by local investors to Samuel M. Pinsly in October, 1952. Two months later, the proud little railroad made its last valiant run, going out with a bang. It left its mark on the countryside and has never been forgotten.
