GP40 3002 pan shot

Despite appearances, GP40 #3002 and three following sisters are doing only 35 mph or so, typical for freights in the area. But the blurred scenery and following engines, the focus of the lead unit, and favourable conditions combined to produce a more dramatic effect than expected.

Photographed by Michael Eby, August 17, 2002.
