This car is one of 15 box cars that the B&A's Derby shops converted for grain loading by adding haches from scrapped grain hoppers on the roof. The class was painted randomly in solid red, white, blue, or all three based on the slogan "State of Maine Potatos" with a new slogan "Products from New England". They were used on the Northern Vermont for a period of time before being put into storage. There were 5 on a siding @ Ludlow on the Houlton branch.

Photographed by MCM, August 7, 2002.
Added to the photo archive by Matthew Minson, November 10, 2002.
Railroad: Bangor and Aroostook.
