Fletcher Granite Quarry spur

This crossing looks pretty nice, now they just have to lay the rest of the track, and it will be done. The rail is the same original rail that has been in place for more than 50 years, it has been laid out on new ties which have been placed on top of the original ties, making the grade about 6 inches higher, so you really feel this crossing when you drive over it. The rail is still pretty rusty, so the first few runs on this track will be a little rough, but it'll get better. The work is being done by "Spurtrak Railroad Contractors Inc." of Northampton, MA.

This view is now all grown over... what a waste of time and money... shame...
