Fletcher Granite Quarry spur

It appears that they are using the original 85lb. rail, but replacing the ties. I walked the line before they started work, and there were a few broken rails that will have to be replaced. It also appears that the grade will be a little higher as the new ties have been laid directly on top of the original ties. This section runs along a brook that runs from the dam at nabnasset lake to stony brook. The brook runs along almost half of the line. Here, a retaining wall was made out of jersey barriers. There is a bridge over the brook that will need to be replaced, the track in the picture ends before the bridge, I'll get a photo once they get the new bridge in place. The old bridge was made out of railroad ties, I'll bet the new one will be just a culvert, the brook is only about 6 feet wide, but could probibly fit into a 2 foot diameter pipe.
