Westbound CP freight on the Moosehead Sub in 1970

FP7A 4071, in classic maroon and gray CP paint, leads a westbound freight on the CP's International of Maine at Tarrtine, Maine. The second and third units are Alco RS-3s and trailing unit appears to be a B&M F-unit. The siding at Tarratine, now removed, was almost exactly half way between Saint John and Montreal, and was a frequent meeting place for the eastbound and westbound Atlantics. (Check out the cool white convertible!)

Photographed by Jim Wright, August, 1970.
Added to the photo archive by Jim Wright, December 6, 2001.
Railroad: CP Rail.
