Ct. Eastern RR Museum's 44 tonner makes historic stop in Willimantic, CT

The last time a train stopped at the Chaplin Station in Willimantic, CT, was in 1901 when the building was at its original location. The US Army Reserve's 1205th Transportation Railway Operating Battalion and the 226th Transportation Railway Operating Company were at the museum. During the day they put down 100' of track, after which the museum's 44 tonner no. 0800 was moved in front of the Chaplin Station, one hundred years after the last train stopped there.
