It's hard to get a real feeling of speed from still photos of Acela. With the high speed cameras available to today's photographers, such photos usually aren't even blurred. :-)

Although I missed this shot, I thought I'd post it anyway, because it gives a good feel for what it's like to have Acela rush by you at speed.

Today's Acela through Attleboro was easily exceeding 100Mph. These two photos were taken in sequence. I composed and shot the first one, and realizing I had shot it too soon, I immediately composed and shot the second. In the length of time it took to refocus, just a second or so, the train moved that far.

And then it was gone.
