Former New Haven line in Lowell

This track is the remnant of the former New Haven line in Lowell, MA. The track runs from the Guilford mainline in Lowell, through Chelmsford, Acton, Maynard, Sudbury, Stow, and continues on in that direction. the tracks have been either paved over or torn up at most grade crossings, parking lots, businesses and housing devopments. This section of track is where it meets the mainline. The switch track that connects it to the mainline is just behind me as I take the photo looking south. The track is intact from here to it's termination at the Wang/Shocase Cinema parking lot, and could be used for a siding at a business on industrial ave. The track is used occasionally for dead storage, and can be seen from the Lowell connector by looking to the left when heading inbound to Lowell, just after the Industrial Ave. exit, and before the Highlands exit.
